Cazcanes No. 9 Rosa Blanco
“Fairly bitter and pretty hot. Flavors start to come out more for me after a few drops of water”

Codigo 1530 Still Strength Blanco
“The aroma reminds me of an unripe banana that has been peppered. There is a bit of agave in there, but it is faint. I also get a bit of licorice and green veggies. Taste has more of the pepper and licorice, along with a nice salty agave note. I like this as a sipper, or perhaps for a mixed drink that calls for a stronger spirit taste. Finish is a touch bitter and salty”

Number Juan Blanco
“Aroma: briny roasted agave, black pepper, something sweet I can't quite put my finger on, maybe spearmint cookie, and has a bit of a savory note as well Palate: definitely an olive thing going on, roasted agave and black pepper are still there Finish: somewhat short, briny but slightly sweet”

Siembra Valles Tequila Añejo
“Nose: Honey, agave, vanilla, oak baking spices. Palate: Vanilla, agave, cola, fruity. Finish: Somewhat short, cola and baking spices. Aroma reminds me of a high proof mead, lots of honey, vanilla, and agave. Taste is similar with honey toned down a bit, and a cola-like flavor. The barrel complements without being overpowering to the agave. This is great by itself, but would also go well in a Tequila Old Fashioned. ”

El Tesoro Extra Añejo
“Very light agave on the nose, but stronger on the palate. On the nose there is also oak, some kind of savory note that makes me think of roasted meat or nuts. I also taste caramel, butter, vanilla (kind of like a caramel corn type thing), oak, black pepper, and a bit of chocolate.”

Nueveuno Tequila Añejo
“This is a very fruity añejo, with berries and tropical fruits present throughout the tasting. Lots of agave still present on nose and palate. For me the nose also has caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon, and those were still present upon tasting. In addition to these, I got flavors of chocolate and citrus. This was very good, reminded me of a berry cola (in a good way).”

Tequila El Mexicano Reposado
“This one is a bit light on both the around and taste. On the nose I get agave, a buttery popcorn thing, oak, barrel spices and oranges. The palate is very similar with more vanilla and black pepper than what was noticeable on the aroma. Overall I enjoyed it as a light sipper, and there was a decent amount of agave for a repo. ”

Don Fulano Blanco Fuerte (100 proof)
“What's most striking to me immediately upon nosing is the presence of a cheesiness, which seems odd but somehow works with the other now and is not overpowering. Possibly not for everyone, but I liked it. Also has plenty of agave and veggies, along with a nice saltiness and a bit of fruit. The cheesiness is not present on the palate, but there was a pleasant balance of bitter and sweet, letting the agave shine through. I actually get a bit of vanilla in there, and then black pepper, mint, and a minerality. I enjoyed this one a lot, and will be getting it again soon. ”
